The Party leader expressed his wish that the overseas Vietnamese community will continue upholding patriotism and strengthening solidarity as well as preserving and promoting national cultural identity.
At a reception for a delegation of overseas Vietnamese (OVs), who returned home to attend the Hung Kings’ Temple Festival 2011, in Hanoi on April 8, Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong said he was pleased with the overseas Vietnamese community’s better integration into the societies of the host countries and their new achievements in all fields.
He asked OVs to build strong, successful and integrating communities with their position increasing in their host countries, and together with compatriots in the homeland successfully implement the national renewal and construction.
The Party chief affirmed the Party and State’s consistent policy of considering the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part and a resource of the nation.
For their part, the OV delegates thanked the Party and State for deep attention and spoke highly of their aspirations and sentiments towards the homeland.
During their stay in Vietnam, the OV delegates will call on borderguards in Lang Son province’s Huu Nghi border gate, as well as visit several historical sites and landscapes in Phu Tho, Lang Son and Hai Duong provinces./.
