A seminar entitled “Ho Chi Minh’s legacy and Vietnam-France cooperation” was held recently in Paris , drawing almost 200 scholars, French friends and overseas Vietnamese.

The event formed part of activities in Paris and other French localities to celebrate 100 years of the day President Ho Chi Minh arrived in France on his trip for national salvation and the 65th anniversary of his visit to France as a guest of the French Government.

Addressing the seminar, Thuan Huu, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, emphasised the event’s significance as the two countries are looking forward celebrations of the 40 th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties (1973-2013).

Thuan Huu recalled the development history of the Vietnamese community in France and highly valued its contributions to the Fatherland. He also urged the community to continue promoting the role as a bridge for the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and France .

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung said to deepen bilateral cooperative ties in the light of Ho Chi Minh Thought, both countries need to make greater efforts to lift their relationship to the level of strategic partnership.

At the event, participants reminisced their fine memoirs at meetings with Uncle Ho and discussed influence of Ho Chi Minh Thought in the relations between the two countries./.
