Ninh Binh (VNA) – Parishioners in the Red River Delta province of Ninh Binh have been eagerly preparing for the upcoming Christmas by practising art performances and decorating churches. 

The Phat Diem Church in Phat Diem town of Kim Son district is decorated colorfully with lights, stone caves and flowers. All preparations have been done on the threshold of the Christmas Eve.

Mai Van Quy, a dignitary in Phat Diem Diocese, said the diocese has always encouraged followers to actively join in patriotic emulation movements and contribute to local funds to support the poor and socio-economic development.

Vu Tien Minh, a resident in Phat Diem town, said local parishioners are excited with Christmas. They have decorated the church and their houses to welcome the event.

Meanwhile, Pham Minh Ha, an officer of Kim Son district’s Traffic Police Unit, said local policemen have worked with relevant agencies to ensure security and safety for parishioners to enjoy their festive season.

The Phat Diem Diocese currently has nearly 5,000 parishioners. The Phat Diem Church has lured crowds of local residents and tourists during this occasion.-VNA
