Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations convened the 14th plenary meeting in Hanoi on November 23 to verify the Government’s report on the global situation, and the Party and State’s diplomatic activities this year.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, on behalf of the Government, presented outcomes of the Party and State’s external activities in 2015. Later, the committee delivered a draft verification report on the work.

Members of the committee agreed on almost all the content in the Government’s report, elaborating that it provided objective and accurate assessments of the regional and global situation this year.

The document also pointed out the Party and State’s diplomatic achievements, which have greatly contributed to maintaining peace and stability, optimising favourable international conditions for socio-economic development, ensuring national security, and promoting Vietnam’s regional and global stature, they said.

Participants at the meeting discussed developments in the region and the world, along with the results of the country’s international integration efforts. They also made predictions for external missions in the years to come.-VNA
