Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has held out hope for effective implementation of cooperation agreements and increased information and experience exchange with the Mexican Labour Party (PT).
He met in Hanoi on May 5 with visiting PT National Coordinator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez, who will attend the forthcoming celebration of the 60 th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
Valuing the partnership between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the PT over past years, the Party chief said he hopes their friendship and solidarity will become stronger in the future.
He congratulated the PT on the success of the international conference themed “Parties and a new society”, while speaking highly of its contribution to achievements shared by the left-wing forces in Latin America .
Anaya, who is also a congressman and President of the Mexico-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group, emphasised the significance of the Dien Bien Phu victory to the people across the world, including Mexicans.
He talked of the results of his meeting with head of the CPV’s Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan, including measures to boost cooperation between the two parties.
During their stay in Vietnam, Anaya and his entourage will have working sessions with the National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations, the CPVCC’s Commission for Education and Popularisation, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Acupuncture Hospital and the Vietnam News Agency.
They also plan to present 100 wheelchairs to children with disabilities.-VNA
