Vietnam and the US have signed four cooperation documents in finance, civil aviation, tariffs and United Nations peacekeeping on the occasion of Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s official visit to the US.

The signing took place at the headquarters of the US Department of State on July 7 (local time).

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai and US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment Catherine Ann Novelli, on behalf of the two Governments, inked an agreement on double tax avoidance and fiscal evasion prevention.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Defence Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defence for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs David B. Shear signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperating in peace keeping .

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh and Assistant Administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID)'s Asia Bureau Jonathan Stivers represented the two countries to ink a MoU between Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and USAID regarding the emerging pandemic threats programme and global health security agenda.

An agreement on technical assistance for the aviation safety project between the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) and the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) was signed.-VNA
