The Ministry of Planning and Investment plays an important role in proposing and organising the implementation of national socio-economic development plans and projects.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made the statement at a working session on the implementation of the resolution of the 11th Party National Congress and those of Party Central Committee related to planning and investment on December 22.
According to Minister of Planning and Investment, Bui Quang Vinh, in the last two years the Ministry has realised targets in the five-year socio-economic development plan, and followed the goals and orientations proposed in the Party National Congress’ Resolution.
It has worked on a total of 240 bills, decrees, resolutions and projects that provided a foundation for the Politburo, the National Assembly, and the Government to promptly issue resolutions and decisions suitable for the country’s reality.
The Ministry has also helped the Government issue policies to attract and utilise foreign direct investment (FDI) and official development assistance (ODA) efficiently.
Trong asked the Ministry to resolve overlapping plans, reduce ineffective investment, and deal with barriers in investment capital licencing and registration, as well as improve statistical data to confirm its special role in the nation’s socio-economic development.-VNA
