Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has urged the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Inspection to strengthen the quality of inspection activities and improve the capacity of inspectors.

The Party leader made the requirement at a working session with key officials of the Commission in Hanoi on Sept. 16.

Strong action should be taken to strictly deal with wrongdoing within the Party so that discipline and democratic centralism are maintained, he said.

General Secretary Trong stressed the urgent need to halt corruption, degeneration, and wastefulness among party cadres to increase the Party’s purity and strength and regain people’s belief.

Inspection is a vital element of Party building, which helps enhance the Party’s leadership capacity and combat power, he noted.

He urged party inspectors to improve their own ethical qualities and set a good example for others to follow.

At the session, participants reviewed activities relating to party inspection, analysed and drew lessons from the activities’ outcomes as well as proposed measures to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Party inspection activities in future.

At the session, Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, stressed the four key points in party inspection, focusing on the implementation of resolutions, decisions and regulations of the Party, enhancement of checking and supervising administration, judicial activities, raising responsibility of cadres at all levels and building a contingent of inspectors, meeting requirements on assigned tasks./.
