Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh received Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Lao Prime Minister Bousone Bouphavanh at separate receptions in Hanoi on Oct. 30 as they were in Vietnam to attend ASEAN meeting.
Meeting with the Chinese government leader, General Secretary Manh praised Premier Wen for visiting Vietnam and participating in the ASEAN-China Summit with active contributions to the success of the event.
He expressed pleasure at new steps of development in bilateral relations and congratulated the Communist Party of China (CPC) over the success of the CPC Central Committee 5 th plenary session, which adopted many important decisions for China ’s development.
He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people would certainly overfulfill socio-economic development targets and tasks under the 11th Five-Year Plan and continue to gain greater achievements in socialism building.
The Party leader affirmed that Vietnam always considered strengthening and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China as a priority in its foreign policy.
He stressed that the two sides need to boost mutual trust and one should respect benefits of the other, and further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in every field, contributing to elevate Vietnam-China ties to a new height for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
For his part, Premier Wen briefed the host about the situation in China and expressed joy at the development of China-Vietnam ties, particularly cooperation between the two countries.
He stated that China always attached importance to developing the traditional friendship and neighbourliness with Vietnam and the bilateral strategic ties would align with the two countries’ strategic benefits, towards solving jointly outstanding issues.
Premier Wen said that China would together with Vietnam try their best to constantly develop the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
Receiving Lao PM Bousone Bouphavanh, General Secretary Manh said that Vietnam would do its best to develop the Vietnam-Laos special relations to a new height.
He requested that the two governments guide their ministries, sectors, localities and businesses to actively implement signed agreements between the two countries and make good preparations for the 33 rd meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee.
He expressed his belief that the Lao people would continue gain new achievements in its national renovation and successfully organise the 450 th anniversary of Vientiane capital city and Party Congress at all levels towards the IX th National Party Congress.
