Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh met with New Zealand’s Governor-General Anand Satyanand in Auckland on Sept. 12.

General Secretary Manh reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching importance to increasing ties with Asia-Pacific countries, including New Zealand.

He spoke highly of New Zealand’s effective support for Vietnam and cooperation with the Southeast Asian country.

Governor-General Anand Satyanand hailed General Secretary Manh’s visit to New Zealand, affirming New Zealand wishes to increase and develop long-lasting, stable and reliable cooperation with Vietnam.

Both host and guest expressed their pleasure at the development of bilateral ties in every aspect, from politics to economics, education and training, tourism as well as close cooperation at regional and international forums.

The two sides highly valued the establishment of comprehensive partnership between the two countries, describing it as an important event that will open up a new chapter in bilateral relations, creating new cooperation power in all aspects, bilaterally and multilaterally.

The two leaders discussed specific measures to extend and further multifaceted relations between Vietnam and New Zealand.
