Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu in Hanoi on October 24.

At the reception, Trong expressed his pleasure at the continued development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and States over the past time despite a number of difficulties.

He suggested the two sides join hands to strengthen coordination, thoroughly grasp common perceptions and seriously implement agreements reached by the two countries’ high-ranking leaders so that the Vietnam-China relations can develop in a set direction, meeting basic interests and legitimate aspirations of the two peoples as well as contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

The Party leader spoke highly of the outcomes of the 3rd Anti-Crime Conference between the two Ministries of Public Security, which took place in Hanoi on October 23, suggesting that the ministries not only provide material and technical assistance for each other but also strengthen cooperation in crime prevention and security protection.

He said the two ministries’ cooperation made important contributions to the development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership.

On the occasion, Trong wished the upcoming National Congress of the Communist Party of China a success, opening up a new development chapter for the country.

For his part, the Chinese minister congratulated the Vietnamese people on the achievements they have made during the renewal process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He said he hopes that the Vietnamese people will harvest greater achievements in the national construction, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 11 th National Party Congress.

He expressed his delight at the fine development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership as well as the effective cooperation between the two ministries.

Meng said that the two ministers agreed to continue promoting cooperation and discussed specific measures to well implement reached agreements, helping deepen bilateral ties.

He affirmed the Chinese Party and State’s consistent policy of attaching importance to developing the traditional friendship and cooperation with Vietnam. /.
