Party leader welcomes Cuban Party member

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has said the Party, State and people of Vietnam consistently support the fight for justice of the Cuban people and are ready to share its experiences over the last 25 years of Doi moi (renewal) with Cuba.

Speaking to adelegation of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) led by Victor GauteLopez, a member of the PCC’s secretariat, in Hanoi on Apr. 23, Trongaffirmed Vietnam ’s determination to enhance unity, friendship,mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, twoStates and two peoples.

He congratulated Cuban communistcomrades with the success of PCC’s first national conference earlierthis year and said that with the sound policies and resolutionsresulting from the conference, as well as the effort and leadership ofthe PCC, the Cuban people will overcome all challenges and obstaclesthey meet in the drive to promote socialism.

In response,Lopez briefed the Vietnamese Party leader on the results of the PCC’sfirst national conference and the political, economic and socialsituation in Cuba .

He expressed his admiration forVietnam ’s development achievements gained during the doi moi process,saying that such achievements will be valuable lessons for Cuba .

He also said that Cuba will make every effort to bolster solidarityand friendship between the two Parties and the two countries.

Earlier on the same day, the Cuban delegation met with a delegation of the Vietnam Communist Party.
The two sides updated each other on the economic and socialsituation in the development process and law making. They also discussedways to boost and expand friendship and cooperation.-VNA

Expressing his pleasure at the positive development of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, the PM highlighted defence and security cooperation as an important pillar of the bilateral ties. Vietnam, Cambodia sign defence cooperation plan for 2027

Giang called on agencies and units of the two defence ministries to implement agreed cooperation programmes, focusing on political and ideological education to strengthen political trust, and cooperation between military services and arms. The two sides should step up coordination in border management and protection to build a Vietnam-Cambodia border of peace, cooperation and development.

Deputy PM visits China’s Tsinghua University, seeking closer educational cooperation

Tsinghua has worked to implement the Vietnamese and Chinese leaders’ orientations for higher education cooperation. Last year, it admitted 27 Vietnamese students and postgraduates, the highest number to date, all of whom received scholarships.
