Vietnam attaches importance to stepping up multifaceted cooperation, especially economic and trade ties, with Angola, and is willing to share experience in areas where both sides have strengths and cooperation needs.

Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Truong Tan Sang was speaking to Jorge Inocencio Dombolo, Politburo member and Secretary of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) Central Committee.

Sang, who is also permanent member of the CPVCC’s Secretariat, requested the MPLA support Vietnamese and Angolan businesses in expanding cooperation and investments to benefit the people and development of both nations.

The Vietnamese official congratulated the MPLA and Angolan people on their achievements in recent years. He also spoke highly of their role in promoting peace and development in Africa .

Dombolo, who is also Head of the MPLA Central Committee’s Commission for Discipline and Auditing, said the traditional relationship between the two parties has laid a firm foundation to strengthen Vietnam-Angola cooperative relations. The MPLA will facilitate the implementation of projects which are jointly invested by the two nations, he said.

While praising Vietnam ’s experiences in socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, the MPLA official expressed his belief that under the leadership of the CPV, the Vietnamese people would soon achieve the target of building Vietnam into an industrial country.

Earlier, the MPLA delegation held talks with a CPV delegation headed by Chairman of the CPVCC’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan.

The two sides informed each other of the situation of their respective parties and countries and exchanged views on international issues of mutual concern.

The officials also discussed measures to speed up the performance of high-level agreements already signed between the two parties and nations, especially cooperation projects in agriculture, oil and gas, telecoms, construction, healthcare and education.

While in Vietnam, the MPLA delegation held a working session with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration and visited Binh Phuoc and Tien Giang provinces.

The delegation also worked with leaders of the Vietnam Rubber Group, the military-run Telecoms Group and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group./.
