Hanoi (VNA) – Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai visited Archbishop of the Hanoi Archdiocese, Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon in Hanoi on December 16 on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas holiday.

Mai said the socio-economic and national defence achievements over the past 30 years of renovation are partly attributable to active contributions by religious dignitaries and followers in general and Catholics in particular.

She hailed dignitaries and followers of the Hanoi Archdiocese for complying with the Party and State’s policies and laws over the past years.

She thanked the Cardinal, Archbishop and dignitaries for cooperating with local authorities and people in the city to develop the diocese and follow the principle of living gospel amidst the nation.

Cardinal Nguyen Van Nhon, for his part, expressed hope that the country would reap more successes next year, with the support from the Vietnam Catholic Church.-VNA
