Party official pledges support to Quang Trung Software City

(Source: VNA)HCM City (VNA) – The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education will work with relevant ministries and agencies to remove difficulties and provide the best possible support for Quang Trung Software City (QTSC), Vo Van Thuong, head of the committee, has said.
At a working session with representatives of QTSC in Ho Chi Minh City on February 12, Thuong, who is also Politburo member and Secretary of the CPV Central Committee, lauded achievements the company has recorded over the recent past, especially the last five years.
As the biggest IT park in Vietnam, QTSC has helped attract investments and promote IT development in HCM City, while contributing to spurring the city socio-economic development, he said.
Thuong urged QTSC to make greater efforts in order to catch up with the fourth industrial revolution, and organise annual forums to gather opinions from big businesses and investors on the company’s development.
The official used the occasion to ask leaders of HCM City to pay more attention to the company, helping it develop further and reap greater achievements.
Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Director of the Quang Trung Software City Development Company Limited, said QTSC has been named in the list of top three technological parks in Asia and become a trust-worthy geographical indication in attracting foreign investment in Vietnam’s software sector.
QTSC now has 150 businesses, including 50 foreign enterprises, operating in the fields of software, digital content and IT services, along with micro IT enterprises and start-ups.
QTSC aims to complete procedures to serve the building of the HCM City software area and deploy the construction of Quang Trung 2 Software City in Cu Chi district, he said, adding that QTSC will prioritise internet of things (IoT) application and create a modern and convenient environment as compared with other ASEAN nations.
Thuong and his entourage then visited TMA Solutions, the second largest software company in Vietnam, which provides services for customers from 25 countries and territories in the world, and QTSC’s telecommunications centre.-VNA
