Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Politburo member Truong Tan Sang assured Egyptian Minister of Investment Mahmoud Mohieldin of Vietnam’s unswerving respect for bilateral relations.

Sang, also the CPV’s permanent secretary, made the statement at their meeting in Hanoi on January 25, saying Vietnam has always respected multi-faceted relations with Egypt, in the vested interests of the two nations and for peace, cooperation and development in Southeast Asia, the Middle East-North Africa and the world as a whole.

The senior Party official welcomed the visit by the Egyptian investment minister, who is also a member of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Central Committee, as evidence of the solidarity, friendship and fine cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.

“Egypt has played an important and active role in the Middle East – North Africa,” Sang said, expressing belief in still greater achievements recorded by the Egyptian people in their national construction under the NDP leadership.

His views were echoed by the guest, who pledged to boost cooperation in all fields with Vietnam, including investment, industry, commerce and tourism.

The Egyptian minister expressed admiration at Vietnam’s achievements and experience in renewal as well as the Southeast Asian nation’s increasing prestige in the international arena./.
