Party official receives Japanese professor, ambassador

Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh hosted Professor Kenichi Ohno
from Japan’s National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), and
Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda on October 26.
Meeting the two Japanese officials, Binh described Japan as one of Vietnam’s leading partners in economy-trade cooperation which benefits people of the two countries.
In response, Professor Kenichi Ohno stated his ideas to improve Vietnam’s labour productivity, as well as proposed that Japan work with Vietnam in this regard.
Meanwhile, Japanese Ambassador Kunio Umeda shared his views on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and progress of the urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnamese official spoke highly of Japan’s experiences in productivity improvement, adding that they will be helpful and practical for Vietnam’s economic development.
Vietnam will continue to stabilise the macro economy, curb inflation and bolster sustainable economic growth, in line with ensuring social welfare and environmental protection, he stressed.
With the targets set, the country always treasures and hopes to enhance its cooperation with Japan, especially in information exchange and Japanese firms’ investment in Vietnam, which will contribute to the countries’ cooperation in the time to come, said Binh.-VNA
