Vietnam attaches importance to developing traditional friendship and strategic partnership with Russia , Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Tan Sang has said.

Receiving a delegation of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) led by CPRF’s Central Committee Secretary Leonid Kalashnikov in Hanoi on Feb. 3, Sang affirmed that Vietnam considers the increase of relations between the two Parties a positive element to boost Vietnam-Russia ties.

Kalashnikov was delighted at the achievements Vietnam has made over the last 20 years of the renewal process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, celebrating its 80 years since its formation on Feb. 3, 1930.

The CPRF has always supported the Russian President and government’s policy to strengthen traditional friendship and strategic partnership with Vietnam and will take an active part in deepening bilateral cooperation, Kalashnikov affirmed.

During their stay in Vietnam, the Russian delegation held talks with their counterpart headed by To Huy Rua, politburo member and Secretary of the CPVCC.

The Russian delegation also worked with leaders of the Party Committees of Hanoi, Hai Phong cities and Quang Ninh province and visited several local economic and cultural establishments./.
