Party Politburo member Truong Tan Sang on April 5 received Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng, who has been on a working visit to Vietnam .

Sang, who is also permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, said he was pleased with the progress in friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations over the recent past, including ties between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Singaporean Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Party official also urged Singapore to continue its support for Vietnam during its cause of national construction.

Wong, who doubles as Minister of Home Affairs, expressed his delight at Vietnam’s strong development since it launched the renewal process, and shared Singapore’s experiences in national construction and management.

Singapore expects to step up its multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in investment, trade and human resources development, he said.

Wong also noted with pleasure the friendship between the CPV and the People’s Action Party of Singapore, hoping that the ties would be further strengthened in the years to come./.
