Vietnam always attaches importance to reinforcing and developing comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership with China, thus deepening bilateral ties for the interest of both people, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world as well.

Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Tan Sang made the statement while receiving Chen Haosu, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Wang Jinshan, President of the China-Vietnam Friendship Association in Hanoi on Dec. 12.

Sang highlighted the importance of the Vietnam-China People Friendship Festival, opened in Hanoi on Dec. 11, and the participation of the Chinese delegation.

The festival is a practical activity to mark 60th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and Vietnam-China Friendship Year 2010, he said.

He also asked people organisations of both countries to create joint initiatives and activities to increase education for future generations about the Vietnam-China friendship.

Chen Haosu and Wang Jinshan, for their parts, affirmed that the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and China-Vietnam Friendship Association would expand activities to strengthen bilateral friendship./.
