Party officials received Russian and Japanese delegates who are in Vietnam for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) Assembly on March 31.

Politburo Member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission To Huy Rua held a reception for a Japanese delegation led by member of the House of Representatives Shunichi Suzuki.

Suzuki stated that his country looks to further comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.

Rua expressed his appreciation for Japanese support to Vietnam in recent years, particularly in official development assistance.

With tremendous potential, Vietnam-Japan bilateral ties will grow closer and become more effective, Rua said.

Meanwhile, H ead of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan met with Andrey Klishas, member of the Russian Federation Council, who expressed his strong impressions of this year’s well-organised IPU hosted by Vietnam.

Quan lauded the significant contributions of the Russian delegation to the IPU’s success, adding that the engagement will enhance trans-parliament affiliation and strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and Russia.-VNA
