Many members of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee have proposed delaying a planned vote of confidence for those holding positions of power elected or approved by the legislature and People’s Council.

The proposal was made at the sitting of the committee in Hanoi on February 21.

They said it is necessary to conduct research and amend Resolution 35 issued in 2012 on conducting a vote of confidence on the basis of assessment of the work conducted last year.

The pause in conducting a confidence vote at the upcoming NA session in May is to give lawmakers time to review and assess the resolution and suggest necessary amendments.

The same day, the committee also discussed possible additions and supplements to some articles of the Civil Aviation Law.

Earlier on the first sitting of the two-day session, the committee’s members gave feedback on the amended Environmental Protection Law, the revised Construction Law, the revised Notary Public Law and the Law on Public Investment.-VNA
