According to many garden owners, this year's sunny weather helped their flower buds to bloom in time.
Besides well-known traditional flower villages such as Nhat Tan,Quang Ba and Nghi Tam, Hanoi also has new flower growing places like LaCa village in Ha Dong district. La Ca village is known for the qualityand diversity of its flowers, and is becoming the largest flower growingarea in Hanoi.
Dang Van Manh, owner of a flower garden in NhatTan village, said last year, he was only able to rent out a few dozenpeach trees. However, this time, he's already had more than 100customers. "Last year, the weather was unpredictable and the frostprevented flower buds from blooming. On the other hand, some treesbloomed too soon, forcing the owners to sell fast," Manh was quoted assaying.
Last year was also a harsh year for kumquat growers. Longand heavy rains killed off a large number of kumquat trees and causedhuge losses to owners.-VNA
