People’s Army welcomes US Air Force top brass

Deputy Chief Lieut. Gen. Tran Quang Khuewelcomed the visit by the General and his delegation, describing it as a chancefor the two countries’ air forces to share experience and look into areas forfuture cooperation.

In the recent past, the two armies have reaped fineresults through cooperation in language training, military medicine, weatherforecasting, and searching for US soldiers who went missing during the Vietnamwar, he said.

The officer said he hoped that the cooperation andfriendship between the two armies would continue to develop for their mutualbenefit and in the spirit of the improving relations between Vietnam and the US.

North said he was delighted to visit Vietnam for the first time andinformed his host on the outcome of his earlier working session with leaders ofthe Vietnamese Air and Air Defence Forces.

The US commander expressedhis wish that the air forces of the two nations would continue to exchangeexperiences regarding flight safety, humanitarian aid, rescue work, weatherforecasting and responding to natural disasters./.

Resolution opens up development space, creates new momentum for regional growth

Resolution No. 27 on regional development and the organisation of national development space in the new period places regional development as a means of organising national growth and a tool for reorganising development space, allocating resources and enhancing competitiveness. This takes on particular significance following the restructuring of administrative units, as the expanded scale of many localities creates better conditions for integrating urban, industrial, agricultural, maritime, border-gate and logistics spaces.

Vietnamese NA President experiences Mongolian traditional culture

Vietnam, France seek to deepen defence cooperation

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang said Vietnam-France defence ties have continued to grow, with cooperation expanding in various areas, including high-level delegation exchanges; the deputy-minister-level strategic dialogue and defence cooperation mechanism; military medicine; education and training; search and rescue; UN peacekeeping operations; maritime cooperation; and defence industry.
