The Embassy of Peru in Vietnam will host a Peruvian Cuisine Week for the first time in Vietnam as part of activities marking 21 years of Vietnam-Peru diplomatic ties (1994-2015).

At a press conference on July 27, Peruvian Charge d’affaires Luis Tsuboyama said the cuisine week, scheduled from July 27-31 at the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, aims to bring Peru’s culture and gastronomy closer to Vietnamese people.

At the event, two Peruvian chefs from the Hilton Lima Hotel will share their experiences and tips on making traditional foods and dishes.

A workshop to introduce two Peruvian functional foods, maca and quinoa, will also be organised as a sideline event, said Jose Luis, an expert from the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture.

The Charge d’affaires said bilateral relations between Vietnam and Peru have developed considerably in politics, economics, investment and trade in recent years.

He also affirmed that Peru will continue creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to operate in the country.-VNA
