The SSG Group Joint Stock Co inaugurated the first stage of the 750 million USD Sai Gon Pearl residential complex on Nguyen Huu Canh street in HCM City’s Binh Thanh district on May 21.

Located on nearly 10.4 hectares by the Sai Gon River, the complex has 126 villas and eight 37-storey buildings that include hotels, shopping centres, offices for rent and other facilities. All the luxury villas and 500 river-view apartments are ready for occupancy.

SSG will put up for sale 526 other apartments in June.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the general director of SSG Group, Dinh Ngoc Ninh, said more than 50 percent of the Sai Gon Pearl project’s construction work had been completed five years after the groundbreaking ceremony.

He said other works of the project’s first stage also included the construction of the Sai Gon Pearl International School to be completed and to admit some 600 students in September.

A shopping centre and postal, health and banking services will be available in the third quarter of the year.

Ninh said the second stage of the project would begin in the fourth quarter of 2010 and will include construction of a bilingual primary and high school to start operation in the third quarter of next year.

In 2011, SSG will build a yacht club and a wharf to accommodate some 130 yachts on the banks of Sai Gon River. Construction of the second stage to start in 2011 includes a complex with a office space, hotels and business centres on a two-hectares area of the project./.
