Hanoi (VNA)Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered law enforcers to arrest Caucasian-looking people who were allegedly involved in indoctrinating Filipinos in the south of the country with teachings of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS).

Duterte told reporters in the southern Philippine city of Davao on August 11 that he asked the military to check the information regarding the presence of unarmed foreigners who are under the "guise of educating" the people in Mindanao.

He said that he told the military to validate it and arrest all of them and then will deport them for acts inimical to national security.

A day earlier, Duterte warned of a looming risk related to IS in the country after receiving information on the presence of white Arab-looking people in southern Philippines. He stressed the government needs to act before Muslims are contaminated by the IS disease.

During his trip to a military camp in the southern province of Sulu on August 12, the president also ordered soldiers to crush members of the Abu Sayyaf Group, which has been engaged in high profile kidnappings and killings. It has vowed allegiance to IS.-VNA
