Hanoi (VNA) - A photo contest running with the theme of “Vietnam through the lens of foreign photographers” has been launched by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The competition is part of the first “Vietnam International Photography Festival” which is scheduled get underway in northern Ninh Binh province, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) reported.

The event is open to Vietnamese and foreign amateur and professional photographers to submit their works which showcase the beauty of Vietnamese land and people.

All entries must be sent to the organising board’s email address before August 20. Each photographer is permitted to send a maximum of 20 photos.

Following the conclusion of the competition, a total of 250 winning works will be put on display at an exhibition held in Ninh Binh in early November.

The Vietnam International Photography Festival is taking place as part of a range of activities during the 2021 National Tourism Year in Ninh Binh and aims to develop the brand of Vietnamese photography. This will thereby help to promote the country’s image whilst simultaneously enhancing international exchanges through photography./.
