A photo exhibition on Irish writer Samuel Beckett, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969, was organised in the central city of Da Nang on Nov. 3.

The exhibition, held by Ireland ’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, features photographs of Samuel Beckett’s everyday life and career. The author’s writings are praised for finding transcendental meaning in the lives of modern people living in poverty.

Beckett and two other great writers--WB Yeats and James Joyce--are considered key influential figures in 20 th century literature, said Ireland ’s ambassador to Vietnam Maeve Collins.

The exhibition, scheduled to last through November 12, is also an opportunity for Vietnamese viewers gain insight, through pictures, into the literary works of Samuel Beckett./.
