The Hanoi Party Committee will conduct a pilot vote of confidence scheme on members of the Standing Board and a number of key position holders in the city at its ongoing 10th conference.

Addressing the conference, which commenced on January 8, Secretary of the Committee Pham Quang Nghi said that the city would be the first locality in the country to pilot such a vote of confidence.

It is a challenging task, but if successful, it will positively impact on municipal officials’ attitude and sense of responsibility, Nghi stressed.

Apart from members of the Standing Board, leaders of seven “sensitive” municipal departments, including construction, natural resources and environment, planning and architecture, planning and investment, home affairs, labour, invalids and social affairs, and police, will be subject to the vote.

Those whore are voted and all members of the municipal Party Committee will be informed of the results. The results of subsequent annual votes will be given to the media after the city receives instruction from the Party Central Committee to do so.

The Hanoi Party Committee has announced eight key tasks that focus on nine working programmes, renovating and reorganising the Committee, and implementing Party Central Committee instructions and resolutions. -VNA
