Responding to testimony from Michael Jerome McKay - a worker for the Songar Mecur oil rig off the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau who claims to have seen the plane exploding - Gia said the Vietnamese units conducted a thorough search in the area mentioned but no suspect signs emerged.
He added that Vietnam is ready to join search efforts outside its territorial waters if requested./.
