The Prime Minister on May 18 approved a project on international integration in science and technology, with the aim of narrowing the gap in the area between the country and the region and the world.

The project aims to improve the capacity of the country’s scientists to ensure that they are qualified to participate in scientific and technological activities in the region and the world in some key fields by 2015.

Under the project, by 2020, Vietnamese scientific and technological organisations and enterprises in some prioritised and key areas are expected to be capable of cooperating with foreign partners and win a place in the regional and world market in scientific research and technological development.

The project is also aimed at speeding up technological reform, especially hi-technology, to improve the competitiveness of some products of the country.

It will help enterprises to seek invention copyrights in some key fields for research./.
