PM approves plan on joint rescue at sea with Philippines

The Prime Minister has signed a decision approving a plan on the implementation of a cooperative agreement between the governments of Vietnam and the Philippines on search, rescue and coping with oil spills.
The Prime Minister has signed a decision approving a plan on the implementation of a cooperative agreement between the governments of Vietnam and the Philippines on search, rescue and coping with oil spills.

The plan required the finalization of legal procedures related to the implementation of the agreement.

Additionally, Vietnamese agencies in charge of search and rescue activities should set up their direct link with the Filipino sides. The two sides will also define specific boundary, areas and duties for search and rescue activities.

Regarding coping with oil spill, the plan requires the building and completing of a management system on marine resources and environment, human resource training, research and development, assessment of risks to prevent and coping with oil spills at Vietnam’s sea area as well as working together with the Philippines to cope with oil spills in the waters of the two countries./.
