PM attends VFF National Patriotic Emulation Congress

Hanoi (VNA) -
The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) CentralCommittee on September 18 held the VFF National Patriotic Emulation Congressfor the 2020-2025 period virtually, with the participation of delegates from all63 cities and provinces.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also Presidentof the Central Council for Emulation and Reward, praised the achievementsof patriotic emulation movements carried out by all-level fronts.

He thanked Vietnamese people from all walks of life as well asVietnamese expats for upholding patriotism and unity while supporting andfollowing Party and State policies, thus contributing to the country’s achievementsoverall.

PM Phuc acknowledged the outstanding achievements of delegates participatingat the congress and many other examples in the VFF’s works, and asked it tocontinue inspiring national great unity and calling on people to engage more inpatriotic emulation movements.

The VFF should encourage people nationwide to exert every effort atwork, apply scientific and technological advances in production and business,and become wealthy legitimately, he said.

The Government leader also requested that the VFF listen to people’s opinions,improve social supervision and feedback, and encourage people to join hands infighting corruption.

President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man said that manypatriotic emulation movements have been carried out effectively over the past fiveyears, thus helping achieve socio-economic development tasks and targets andensuring defence security and external relations.

Many movements and campaigns have had extensive effects and enjoyedpositive results, such as “The entire nation joining hands in buildingnew-style rural areas”, “The entire nation joining hands in helping poor people- No one left behind”, “Vietnamese Businesses - Integration and Development”, and“Vietnamese people prioritise using Made-in-Vietnam products”.

On this occasion, Man also launched a patriotic emulation movement inthe front network for the 2020-2025 period./.
