Hanoi (VNA) –
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has issued decisions on disciplinary measures against an official of northern Hoa Binh province and some leaders of the Ministry of Transport.

Under Decision No. 1245/QD-TTg, Bui Van Cuu, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province for the 2016-2021 tenure, was given a disciplinary warning for serious violations and wrongdoings in the instruction of the 2017-2018 national high school graduation exams in the locality.

On August 2, the provincial Party Committee imposed a disciplinary warning on Cuu, who is also member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Civil Affairs Committee, and head of the provincial steering board for the national high school exams, as he did not fulfill his role as head of the board.

In other decisions, Deputy Ministers of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong and Nguyen Nhat received reprimands for violations and wrongdoings while performing their duties.

Another Deputy Minister of Transport, namely Nguyen Van Cong, was warned for his serious violations and wrongdoings at work.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hong Truong was stripped of the status of former Deputy Minister of Transport for the 2011-2015 and 2016-2017 periods for his serious violations and wrongdoings.

During its 35th meeting, the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee concluded that the Transport Ministry’s Party Civil Affairs Committee seriously violated the principle of centralised democracy and working regulations.

It showed a lack of responsibility, slack leadership and inspection, resulting in many law violations and wrongdoings in the process of equitisation and State capital divestment at several enterprises under the ministry’s management.

Members of the Transport Ministry’s Party Civil Affairs Committee and Deputy Ministers, comprising Nguyen Hong Truong, Nguyen Van Cong, Nguyen Ngoc Dong and Nguyen Nhat also shared the blame for the violations and mistakes of the Party Civil Affairs Committee while having to bear personal responsibility for mistakes in carrying out their tasks.

At the 37th meeting, the Inspection Commission decided to give warnings to Cong, and reprimands to Dong and Nhat.

Truong was stripped of the post of member of the Transport Ministry’s Party Civil Affairs Committee for the 2011-2016 and 2016-2021 tenures, during a meeting in Hanoi on July 16 of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat which was chaired by Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Truong’s violations and wrongdoings are serious, harming the prestige of the Party, the transport sector and himself, the Secretariat said.

The Secretariat also asked agencies to impose administrative discipline on Truong./.
