PM Dung meets Japanese Deputy PM

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Okada Katsuya in Tokyo on Apr. 20 while in Japan to attend the fourth Mekong-Japan Summit.

PM Dung expressed his pleasure at the fine development of the Vietnam-Japan strategic cooperation partnership and said that the two countries need to boost cooperation in many fields to match their great potential.

He asked the two sides to accelerate visits and meetings at all levels and simplify entry procedures for Vietnamese to study, work and travel to Japan , as well as expand people exchange programmes.

In addition, PM Dung said, Vietnam wishes to expand cooperation and learn from Japan ’s experience in human resource training and social insurance and continue increasing official development assistance from Japan .

Japanese Deputy PM Okada Katsuya expressed his strong impression of Vietnam ’s development and shared Japan ’s experience in implementing policies on social insurance.

Earlier, PM Dung and head delegates to the Mekong-Japan Summit were received by Japanese Emperor Akihito.
At the event, the Vietnamese PM expressed his belief that Japanese people will overcome difficulties to build a more prosperous nation.

He said that the Vietnamese State, Government and people are looking toward to welcoming the Japanese Emperor and Empress to Vietnam when the two countries mark the 40 th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2013.-VNA
