PM Dung pays Tet visit to Can Tho city

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung paid Tet visit to the southern city of Can Tho on Feb. 16, the third day of the Lunar New Year.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung paid Tetvisit to the southern city of Can Tho on Feb. 16, the third day of theLunar New Year.

Meeting with local authorities, PM Dung commended Can Tho for theachievements it made in 2009 and acknowledged the municipaladministration’s efforts to take care of social policy beneficiariesduring the Tet holiday.

He also asked the provincial authorities to strengthen their leadershipto maintain political stability, security and social order in thelocality.

After the holiday, the administration should encourage all sectors andlocal people to accelerate production for further development of thecity, PM Dung said./.

This is PM Hung’s first official trip to Laos and Cambodia, reaffirming the high importance and priority that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam attach to relations with the two neighbouring countries. PM Le Minh Hung’s Laos visit to help deepen bilateral relations

The two countries established diplomatic relations on September 5, 1962. On July 18, 1977, they signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, providing an important political and legal foundation for strengthening bilateral ties and supporting each country’s cause of national construction and defence.
