Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung urged Vietnamese and German legislatures to foster cooperation, a move which the PM considers in line with their strategic partnership established in 2011.

In a meeting with the President of the German Parliament Norbert Lammert in Berlin on October 15, the PM sought his host’s support to enhance Vietnam ’s ties with the European Union.

Lammert assured his guest that he would attend the 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union scheduled for next March in Vietnam.

In a meeting with the Vietnamese community in Berlin on the same day, the PM asked them to continue to stand united and abide by the German law, adding that they were expected to act as a bridge between the two countries.

Nearly 125,000 Vietnamese currently live in Germany.-VNA
