Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Governor of Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji on July 3 on the occasion of his working visit to Japan to attend the seventh Mekong-Japan Summit.

Governor Yuji informed the PM of the preparations for the Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa, co-organised by the prefecture, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in September.

This will be the largest event on Vietnam held in Japan so far and is expected to attract the participation of hundreds of thousands of visitors, he said.

The Governor also discussed promoting a potential industrial zone for Kanagawa enterprises in Vietnam to boost investments, particularly in support industries, as well as cooperation in health, sports and human resources.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung appreciated the Governor’s efforts and initiative to enhance collaboration with Vietnam.

He suggested the prefecture intensify partnerships with Hanoi and affirmed that Vietnam will actively coordinate with Kanagawa to successfully organise the Vietnam Festival.

He asked the Governor to share experience with and support Vietnam in agriculture, health and bio-technology as well as in building the smart city model and receiving Vietnamese students to learn in the prefecture.-VNA
