PM receives Indian petroleum minister

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on July 22 received Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora on the sidelines of the ongoing 28 th ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting on Energy (SOME 28) in Da Lat city of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong .

PM Dung said he was pleased with the developing traditionalfriendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and India inall aspects, including politics, economics, culture and education aswell as their close coordination at multilateral forums.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese government will try its utmost topromote the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He also applauded Indian businesses for their expansion of investmentin Vietnam , particularly in the field of energy development.

Minister Murli Deora spoke highly of the results of SOME 28 andexpressed his wish to foster cooperation with Vietnam in the energysector in general and oil and gas in particular.

He said Indian businesses highly value the more favourable investmentenvironment in Vietnam and want to expand investments in power andsteel projects in the country./.

The dispatch states that in implementing Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW dated April 2, 2026 of the 14th Party Central Committee on the 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt management and medium-term public investment, linked to the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth, the Government on April 29 issued 11 resolutions on cutting, decentralising and simplifying administrative procedures, business conditions, and conditional business lines. The Prime Minister subsequently directed ministries, agencies and localities to implement these resolutions.

Vietnamese, Angolan foreign ministers hold talks in Hanoi
