Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) should further boost their cooperation considering the two countries’ great potential and numerous similarities to support each other during the process of development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the point at a reception on September 5 for RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Jun Dae-joo, who has just assumed his new role in the country.

He said the two sides need to further intensify cooperation activities in the fields of business, trade, investment, education and training, science and technology, and labour.

PM Dung voiced his pleasure with the robust development of the Vietnam-RoK strategic partnership, adding that the achievements the two countries have reached over the past time have brought practical benefits to their common development.

He also asked the RoK to increase Official Development Assistance (ODA) to help Vietnam build infrastructure and create more favourable conditions for Vietnamese agricultural produce to enter the Korean market.

The PM affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for Ambassador Jun Dae Joo to fulfil his new missions in Vietnam.

For his part, the ambassador said his country always attaches importance to its ties with Vietnam. The upcoming visit of President Park Geun-hye to Vietnam reveals the RoK’s efforts in strengthening and expanding the comprehensive cooperation relations with Vietnam.

The diplomat pledged to spare no effort to boost ties between the two countries, especially in the potential fields of infrastructure, energy and support industry development.-VNA
