Polish diplomatic delegation visits Vietnam

Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Wojciechowski paid a working visit to Vietnam and held an annual exchange of views with the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry on March 11 and 12.

The visit was made within the framework of the cooperation protocol between foreign ministries of the two countries.

On March 12, while meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, the two sides shared viewpoints on international issues of mutual concern and discussed measures to bolster relations in economics, trade, and investment as well as the cooperation between the two countries’ foreign ministries in the world arena.

They also compared notes on the implementation of high-level agreements reached during Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to Poland in September 2007 and mapped out plans for Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s up-coming visit to Vietnam in May.

Pawel Wojciechowski spoke highly of achievements Vietnam has attained during its renewal, industrialisation and modernisation process while underlining increasing significant role of the country in the Southeast Asian region as well as in the world.

He said Vietnam is an important partner of Poland in Asia. He expressed the belief that the traditional friendship and multi-faceted between the two countries as well as the two foreign ministries will reach a higher level.

Earlier, the Polish deputy foreign minister paid a courtesy visit to Vietnamese Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem./.
