Party Politburo member Truong Tan Sang on April 16 received Japan-Vietnam Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Sang, who is also standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee spoke highly of practical contributions by the ambassador to boosting the Vietnam-Japan friendship and cooperative relations through his charitable activities and others aimed at bolstering cultural exchange, cooperation on health care and investment promotion.

He expressed his wish that Ryotaro, who doubles as Vietnam-Japan Special Ambassador, would continue his support in implementing the strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia .

For his part, Ryotaro recounted his activities during his stay in Vietnam , including the signing of an agreement between a hospital under the Japanese Okayama University and the Hanoi Cardiac Centre and his attendance at the opening ceremony of a handicraft exhibition.

He also visited several centres for disabled and disadvantaged children and made commitments to continue his support for the development of the two countries’ relations and promote mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples./.
