Poor ethnic minorities in Phu Yen aided to build houses

Five disadvantaged households of the ethnic minority group in Ea Bar and Ea Ba communes in the south central province of Phu Yen’s Song Hinh district have received a total grant of 200 million VND (8,810 USD) to build houses.

 Phu Yen (VNA) – Five disadvantagedhouseholds of the ethnic minority group in Ea Bar and Ea Ba communes in the south central province of Phu Yen’s Song Hinh district havereceived a total grant of 200 million VND (8,810 USD) to build houses.

The financial assistance was handed over to therecipients by a delegation from the Steering Committee for the CentralHighlands on April 17.

Deputy head of the committee Dieu K’re said theagency always pays attention to the lives of local ethnic minority people.

He asked the local authorities to deliver moresupport to the groups, particularly in restructuring farming models, escaping poverty,and preventing early marriage.

Dieu K’re stressed that Ea Bar and Ea Bacommunes need to strengthen forest management, protection and development,especially upstream forests and forests between Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces.-VNA
