One billion VND (47,600 USD) is set to come to poor households in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, according to the provincial People’s Committee.

The sum is a meaningful gift that the Central Highlands Regional Steering Committee wants to send to the local disadvantaged families to help them have a more comfortable Tet holiday.

Along with the sum, the province has spent 369 million VND from its budget to assist more than 13,000 poor households with 100,000 VND each.

For this year’s Tet festival, Lam Dong has spent 15 billion VND to reach out to nearly 90,000 beneficiaries of social welfare, and those who are underprivileged in remote areas and ethnic groups.-VNA
