Nearly 2,500 poor people with vision problems in two central provinces of Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh have benefited from free medical check-ups and surgeries funded by the Ho Chi Minh City branch of Hope Charity during a campaign in March.

The charitable organisation on March 26 coordinated with doctors from Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ngai offered free consultations, medical examinations and eye surgeries for as many as 1,000 elderly and disadvantaged people in the province’s Duc Pho district.

Earlier on March 20-23, about 1,000 people in Hoai Nhon district, Binh Dinh province, also received free medical examinations and medicines, while 424 others had free cataract surgeries.

All costs of the campaign, at about 750 million VND, were contributed by foreign and domestic donors through the charitable organisation’s Ho Chi Minh City branch.-VNA
