President calls for more investment from Japan

Vietnam always welcomes Japan-invested projects and expects more foreign direct investment (FDI) from Japan, President Nguyen Minh Triet has said.

Meeting with President of the Japan Asia Group Ltd. Tetsuo Yamashita in Hanoi on May 25, the Vietnamese State leader spoke highly of programmes and projects implemented by the Japanese group in the Southeast Asian country.

He said he hoped for the group’s further cooperation with Vietnamese partners and acting as a bridge for other Japanese groups and companies to come to Vietnam .

President Tetsuo Yamashita briefed the Vietnamese State leader of Japan Asia Group Ltd.’s activities in Vietnam, especially its cooperation with the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB).

He said through its cooperation with Vietnamese partners, the group wants to contribute to the development of Japan-Vietnam relationship,

The Japanese group expects to invest in technology and infrastructure facilities in Vietnam , apart from listed companies, President Yamashita said.

He said the group also hopes for chances to apply solar energy production technology in the country.

On the occasion, the Japan Asia Group Ltd. and MB signed the “Vietnam-Japan Capital Market Development Partnership” agreement./.
