President Truong Tan Sang has valued efforts of female entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses and contributing to the national development over the past years, despite great challenges posed by the domestic and global economic downturn.

He made the statement on February 28 in Hanoi while meeting 100 outstanding businesswomen who won the “Yellow Rose” Cup hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

He lauded the VCCI’s idea to organise the event, which aimed to honour outstanding faces in fuelling the nation’s economic development, industrialisation and modernisation, while encouraging and recognising endeavours of female entrepreneurs.

President Sang said he hopes that such occasions will become a chance for the participants to share their experience and voice their initiatives and proposals to the Party and State for more suitable policies.

During the meeting, held on the occasion of the upcoming International Women’s Day (March 8), the President was also introduced to the operation outcomes of the Female Entrepreneur Council under the VCCI as well as the success of businesswomen in the context of a difficult economic situation.-VNA
