Hanoi (VNA) – President Truong Tan Sang highly valued the contributions of Thai Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup to promoting the relations between Vietnam and Thailand during his tenure in Vietnam.

At a reception for the outgoing Ambassador in Hanoi on December 23, President Sang said Vietnam treasures the strategic partnership with Thailand, adding that he appreciates the joint efforts in preparing for celebrations of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The President also welcomed Thai businesses to invest in Vietnam and proposed Thailand create favourable conditions for Vietnamese workers to join its labour market.

The Thai diplomat thanked President Sang as well as Vietnamese agencies and sectors to help him fulfill his missions during the tenure in Vietnam.

He expressed his pleasure to receive the medal “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” granted by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations.

He conveyed the invitations of Thai government leaders to President Truong Tan Sang to visit Thailand in the coming time.

The outgoing Ambassador also thanked Vietnam for facilitating Thai business operation in the country, adding that the Thai Government is activating some projects supporting Vietnamese fishermen to increase aquatic product value.-VNA
