President Joko Widodo opened the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX)’s first 2015 trading activity on January 2.

On the same day, he visited Tanah Abang, a famous traditional market located in capital Jakarta, addressing the need to maintain markets like this in the country due to its multifunction in terms of business, culture and tourism.

According to ASEAN’s statistics, Indonesia was the biggest economy in Southeast Asia as by early 2014 with its GDP hitting 863 billion USD, flowed by Thailand (388 billion USD), and Malaysia (312 billion USD).-VNA
